Most kids don’t want to hear about summer school – “It’s boring", “It’s stupid", “I don’t need to go".  But for many children, two and a half months without structure and stimulation can halt progress and open the door for regression. 

At Mardan, kids find the summer session can be interesting, enriching, and even fun!  The summer program is a continuation of the regular school year, providing structure and academic skill building along with social skills training and practice, but the atmosphere is a little more relaxed. 

In addition to regular grade appropriate curriculum, the students are involved in highly motivating activities that are often designed around a specific theme such as marine biology, astronomy, medieval life, etc.  Hands-on projects, cooking sessions, picnic lunches, virtual trips around the country or world, all contribute to a relaxed but invigorating learning experience.  Mardan students find themselves having more fun than they expected, and enjoying continued social and school-based interactions in a supportive environment.

• For returning students, Mardan summer session provides much needed continuity of structure, expectations, and ongoing skill building and maintenance.
• For new students, Mardan summer session can provide a prolonged diagnostic period to assess strengths and weaknesses upon which to build an education plan for the new school year.
• For high school students, Mardan summer session can provide an opportunity to earn extra credits in a supportive learning environment.

The tuition for new students is a special summer diagnostic placement cost of $750 for the full six-week summer session. Enrollment requires the same extensive intake process as regular admissions - please read the "Admissions" page on this website.
